Salewski Parlamenti - Salewski Parlamenti
The story is: Salewski is a drummer and composer and an integral part of the avant-garde pop scene. He is a member of several bands (Merricks, Dakar & Grinser, The Johnsons, and Jason Arigato & The Sayonaras). Between 2016 and 2018, he created collaborative works with various artists from his circle. Salewski arranged songs that were brought together as an LP and released by Echokammer in 2018: Salewski II “Chansons” featuring Inida Kreuz, Manuela Rzytki, Rosalie Eberle, Pico Be, Anna McCarthy, Anton Kaun, and Albert Pöschl. To perform the music live, a band formed including Pico Be (vocals), Anna McCarthy (vocals), Manuela Rzytki (vocals/synth), Sachiko Hara (synth), Anton Kaun (noise), Zoro Babel (percussion/synth), Albert Pöschl (bass), and Salewski (drums). From 2019 to 2023, Salewski Parlamenti performed at events including the Puch Festival, Sommerbühne im Olympiastadion, Alien Disco Festival, Faust Studio Scheer, and Intimacy Quarterly/Blitzclub. Through continuous collaboration, an ensemble emerged with versatile ways of intertwining different musical directions — a rich body of sound combining classical instruments, synthesizers, stone slabs, wood, barrels, and elements of noise. In the ongoing flow of shared musical sessions, the group’s sound was influenced and enriched by the addition of sung lyrics by Anna McCarthy and Pico Be. With the support of a Neustart Kultur grant, we had the opportunity to have a week-long studio session at Faust Studios in Scheer, including Hans Joachim Irmler leaving his fingerprint on one of the songs, and with a concert at the end presenting new work in a very special setting. Now it is finished — “SALEWSKI PARLAMENTI” — which we will send into the new year on January 9, 2026, full of hope that we can release into the ether the kind of vibes that are so urgently needed.
